Neymar Jnr insists leaving Barcelona for Paris St Germain will not be the end of his football career after scoring a goal at his debut game. The Brazil international made an impact in his first game since completing a world-record 222million euro (£200.6million) move with a goal and an assist as PSG cruised to a 3-0 win at Guingamp. Critics argued that leaving Barcelona for Ligue 1 is a set back, but the 25-year-old is happy to prove them wrong and his content at the moment. “I knew it would be very difficult to leave Barca but I am very happy to be here,” he said in quotes reported by L’equipe, “People think that you die after leaving Barca, but no, it’s the opposite. I’m more alive than ever, I play, I’m very happy. The country, the city and the team change, but football is the same.” After Jordan Ikoko’s own goal gave PSG a 52nd-minute lead, Neymar brilliantly set up Edinson Cavani to make it 2-0 before opening his account for the club with a simple close-range finish with eight min...

'I Know This Club Will Be Successful Under Mourinho' - Rooney

England's captain, Wayne Rooney states that he always knew the Portuguese boss would bring accomplishment to Manchester United – and strongly believe the club could put up with a serious title challenge next season.

If The Red Devils are able to add to the Community Shield and EFL Cup glory would be a good end to a very strenuous first campaign for Jose  Mourinho – a manager Rooney has once again confirmed to grow vigorously in the Old Trafford hotseat.

“I said in October, November, that this club will be successful under Jose Mourinho having seen the way he works,” he said.

“If we can win the Europa League, that will be three trophies in his first season. We’re not far off challenging for the Premier League and I hope next season in the Champions League. But I feel the club will be successful under Jose.”

Weather Rooney is in the starting line-up on Thursday against Celta Vigo – or the squad next season – remains unknown, although his aspirations to end the season with another trophy is very much apparent.

The forward accepts United’s top-four tilt is all but over, with Europa League victory offering the most likely route back to where “this club belongs” -  the Champions League.

“I think with Champions League semi-finals, you know you’re in touching distance of final,” Rooney, a European champion at United, said ahead of a clash with Celta they approach with a 1-0 first-leg advantage.

“This is a European semi-final, it’s the biggest chance to win a European competition in the last two or three years. The tie’s not over.

“It’s a dangerous position we’re in but we’ve got a good chance of going to the final if we play to our best.”

Meanwhile, Rooney also discussed his future at Manchester United but seems to be having mixed messages over if he expects to stay or not.
